Weld Technician | Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $49,000 - $76,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Lansing seeking Weld Technicians who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding operations according to specifications and blueprints.
• Inspect and test welds for quality and adherence to standards.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues.
• Prepare materials and surfaces for welding.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors on welding processes.
• Document welding activities and quality control results.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding is preferred.
• Proven experience as a welder or in a related manufacturing role.
• Proficiency in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) and knowledge of different welding materials.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Familiarity with welding equipment, safety procedures, and quality control standards.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy and the properties of metals.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Certified in specialized welding processes (e.g., TIG, MIG, Stick, Flux-Cored) beyond basic requirements.
• - Experience with automated welding systems or robotic welding.
• - Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods like visual inspection (VT), dye penetrant (PT), or magnetic particle (MT).
• - Proficient in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
• - Knowledge of welding metallurgy and material science.
