Weld Technician | Battle Creek, MI

Salary Range: $48,000 - $75,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding operations using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding according to specifications.
• Inspect and test welds for quality assurance, identifying and reporting any defects or deviations.
• Prepare materials and equipment for welding, including cleaning, grinding, and setting up fixtures.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding procedures to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working order and performing routine maintenance.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Troubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective actions to maintain production standards.
• Document welding processes, materials used, and quality control results as required.

Recommended Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited welding program (e.g., AWS certifications).
• Proven experience with various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in using welding equipment and safety gear.
• Strong understanding of welding safety procedures and regulations.

Bonus Qualifications

• - Experience with robotic welding systems
• - AWS Certified Welder certification
• - Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods
• - Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and schematics
• - Basic understanding of metallurgy and material properties
