Job Description

KAW NATION  POSITION DESCRIPTION

TITLE:                                                PATIENT REGISTRATION
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:         BUSINESS OFFICE SUPERVISOR

CONTROLLING SUPERVISOR: Chair

STATUS: Regular, full-time

LOCATION: Newkirk, OK

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of (1) year experience in a clinical environment and related field. Ability to relate and interact with Native Americans to establish a chart at the Kanza Health Clinic, updating all patient registration and insurance information. Possess interpersonal skills in reading, writing, and speech which would include good communication skills. Must be able to multi task and work with minimum supervision. Prefer candidate to have some knowledge of Insurances and RPMS (Resource Patient Management System). Must have proficient computer skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 
  1. Answer multiple phone lines.
  2. Schedule appointments, check patients in and out.
  3. Make appointment reminder calls.
  4. Establish new patients by making appointments, and entering all required documentation into computer system thru data entry and scanning.
  5. Update all patient demographics annually and as needed.
  6. Input and verify all insurance information and patient eligibility.
  7. Receive and input all Tribal Enrollment information in computer system.
  8. Review schedules prior to appointments to see what information is needed to keep chart updated.
  9. Inactivate patients per Kanza Health Clinic Policy and Procedures.
  10. Abide by the HIPAA Privacy Act of 1974 to maintain confidentiality of all records.
  11. Work closely with Billing, Purchase Referred Care, and Medical to get updated demographic, insurance information needed.
  12. Maintain statistics as needed for reports requested by supervisor.
  13. Any other duties as assigned by immediate/controlling supervisor.
All new hires will be required by the Kaw Nation to submit to a pre-employment drug screen.  Failure to pass the pre hire drug screen will lead to withdrawal of the job offer or termination of employment. All new hires must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, pull, push and lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
