DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Caseworker 2 will be responsible for obtaining social information for the intellectually and developmentally delayed to develop treatment plans and enroll them into Behavioral Health & Intellectual/Developmental Services under the supervision of the Supports Coordinator Supervisor. The person will assist consumers in filing applications for SSI, DPW and VA benefits and participate in the development of Individual Service Plans detailing goals in the areas of residential day programming, socialization, medical, fiscal and adaptive behavior for each consumer. Responsibilities include maintaining files, records and other documentation necessary for continuity of care and development of life management plans, and acting as an advocate to ensure the most appropriate treatment is approved.
WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
Telework: there is no telework option.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1; or
Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program; or
A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major; or
A bachelor's degree that includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency; or
Any equivalent combination of experience and training including 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice or other related social sciences.
Applicants within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree or credits are considered meeting the educational requirements.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
You must pass a background investigation.
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
