Position Summary
The Coordinator for AANHPISI Affairs supports the mission and strategic initiatives of the Office for AANHPISI Affairs & APIDA Center within the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity at San Diego State University. Reporting to the Executive Director for AANHPISI Affairs this position advances student success outreach and inclusion initiatives serving Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students.

Department Summary
The Office for AANHPISI Affairs & APIDA Center advances student success initiatives aligned with SDSUs federally designated Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANHPISI) status. The Office works to strengthen outreach academic success leadership development research engagement and belonging for Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students.
Through coordinated advising community college partnerships culturally responsive programming and data-informed strategies the Office supports enrollment retention persistence and graduation efforts. The Center collaborates closely with academic departments campus partners and community organizations to ensure students are supported holistically and positioned for long-term success.
Housed within the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity the Office contributes to SDSUs broader commitment to inclusive excellence and institutional transformation.

Education and Experience
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences public or business administration or a job-related field. Additional specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the knowledge and abilities shown below may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Possession of the required knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or in a related field; experience should give evidence of competence and indicate the potential for further growth. A masters degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.
